Today I’m at the world premier of Mindhorn showing in Odeon, Leicester Square. This is a film about a former secret agent with a bionic eye lands a private detective job on the Isle of Man starring Essie Davis, Julian Barratt and Richard McCabe.

This year I’m seeing at least 19 films during the London Film Festival. I’ll be noting down all the films I see with each post going live shortly after the film.
It all kicks off this evening with the story of a TV reporter called Christine Chubbuck in the 1970s starring Rebecca Hall, Tracy Letts and Michael C. Hall.
A few more films over the past week: the very funny Bachelorette, a Palestinian film Love During War Time and a time-travelling drama/comedy Safety Not Guaranteed.

I am already falling behind with my film listing. I saw Argo last week both at the local cinema. Excellent film with tension sustained throughout much of the film. It always helps to have a good story to tell and this was a one of them.

I’m 31 and it’s time to see how many different films I see in a year at the cinema. On 31y +1d I saw the French film Intouchables. The week has hardly started and I’m off to a premier tomorrow. In the meantime, I may see another film this evening while the tickets are cheap.

If you wonder why I will be seeing many films on a Wednesday, it is because of the "Orange Wednesday" offer where you get 2 tickets for the price of 1. Even bad films seem better if you only pay half the normal price.

Despite what the critics said, I really liked Richie’s new film: Revolver. I went to see it on Saturday with Leah.

Leah come to visit for a few days at the start of the week. She seems to like it here as there are lots of shops, everyone seems relaxed and it seems more continental than other places.
On Wednesday we walked along the Palace Pier without going on any of the rides. I don’t often go to the pier as it is really tacky and there’s always bad music playing on the loud speakers and, above all, there are loads of tourists around.
